Loro sono famosi qui in Italia grazie a "It's Been Awhile" del 2001. Sono gli Staind, che il 19 agosto ritorneranno con un nuovo album, "The Illusion of Progress". Questo è il video del 1°singolo.

Finalmente è uscito il video di "Disturbia". Devo dire che, avendolo visto solo una volta, è stranissimo e molto dark, però la canzone è una vera e propria bomba, e secondo me si candida a diventare uno dei tormentoni dell'estate.

Vi mancano le boyband? Ecco i V Factory

Come saprete, negli ultimi anni le boyband "classiche" come i Backstreet Boys, i Take That e gli NSYNC sono andate fuori moda, a favore di gruppi pop/rock come i Jonas Brothers. Se siete in crisi d'astinenza da boyband non preoccupatevi perché sono in arrivo i V Factory.



I V Factrory sono:
- Jared Murillo (06/08/1988): è apparso, come ballerino, in "High School Musical" e "High School Musical 2". E'famoso per essere il fidanzato di Ashley Tisdale.
- Asher Book (18/09/1988): è apparso in "Zoey 101" e "Medium".
- Wesley Quinn (16/01/1990): è stato uno dei ballerini di Ashley Tisdale insieme a Jared Murillo.

Molti di voi la conosceranno per il ruolo della cheerleader Claire Bennet nel telefilm "Heroes". Sto parlando di Hayden Panettiere, che nel 2009 pubblicherà il suo primo album, ancora senza titolo. Questo è il 1° singolo, che mi ricorda un po' come sound "Stars Are Blind" di Paris Hilton.

Indovina chi è (couple edition)...

Indovina chi un po' particolare oggi perché, invece di un unico personaggio, dovrete indovinare una coppia di un teen drama degli anni 90 che non è stato mai trasmesso in Italia. Un po' di indizi: intanto la protagonista non è + rossa ma è bionda, e ha recitato in vari film, tra cui uno tratto da un'opera letteraria ambientata in una città del Veneto; il protagonista invece non fa solo l'attore... vi ho detto troppo, adesso tocca a voi a indovinare!!

E questa canzone ve la ricordate? Era l'estate del 2005 (3 anni fa ormai), e i Simple Plan spaccavano con questa "Welcome To My Life".

Album in arrivo per Jennifer Hudson

Ha iniziato la sua carriera nel 2004 come partecipante alla 3^edizione di "American Idol", vinta da Fantasia Barrino, classificandosi . Nel 2006, la grande svolta. Viene scelta per interpretare Effie White nella trasposizione cinematografica del musical "Dreamgirls", ispirato alla carriera delle Supremes, accanto di attori già affermati come Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx (altro attore/cantante premio Oscar nel 2005 per il film "Ray") e Beyoncé; vince molti premi, tra cui un Golden Globe e un Oscar per la miglior attrice non protagonista. Sto parlando, ovviamente, di Jennifer Hudson.



Quella qua sopra è la copertina del suo primo, omonimo album, in uscita il 30 settembre prossimo. Molte le collaborazioni, tra cui quelle con Timbaland, R. Kelly, John Legend, T-Pain, Ludacris, Robin Thicke e tantissimi altri.
Il primo singolo estratto è "Spotlight", che è stato scritto da Ne-Yo, e di cui vi posto il video.

SUMMER HITS: Lorna - "Papi Chulo" (estate 2003)

Megatormentone dell'estate di 5 anni fa (ormai...) è questa "Papi Chulo" di Lorna. Tra l'altro, quando uscì questa canzone giravano voci che Lorna fosse morta di ovedose, ma in realtà si trattava di un'omonima della cantante.

Novità d'estate (2): Solange, Gabriella Cilmi & The Ting Tings

Nuovo spazio dedicato ai nuovi artisti che stanno spopolando in questa calda estate. Oggi è la volta di Solange, Gabriella Cilmi e i Ting Things.

Partiamo da Solange. No, non si tratta del mago che era andato alla Fattoria, ma di Solange Knowles, sorella della più nota Beyoncé, che il 26 agosto pubblicherà il suo 2°album, "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams". Il 1° singolo è "I Decided", che è arrivato alla 44 della classifica R&B di Billboard, e di cui è appena uscito un remix fatto dai Freemasons (i responsabili del successo di "Work" di Kelly Rowland). Io vi propongo il video della versione originale, che è molto carino e mi ricorda un po' quello di "Original Fire" degli Audioslave.



La 16enne australiana Gabriella Cilmi, invece è già stata paragonata a Amy Winehouse e Macy Gray. Il suo album d'esordio si chiama "Lessons to Be Learned" ed è stato anticipato dal singolo "Sweet About Me", in rotazione anche da noi.



Altro fenomeno pop delle ultime settimane sono i Ting Tings, gruppo indie-pop formato da Jules De Martino e Katie White. Il loro singolo "Shut Up and Let Me Go" è noto per essere stato colonna sonora di uno spot dell'iPod (e anche in una puntata di "Gossip Girl", insieme a un loro altro singolo, "We Started Nothing", mentre un'altra loro canzone, "Be The One" è stata usata in una puntata di "One Tree Hill"), e ora stanno avendo grande successo con "Great DJ", di cui vi posterò il video un altro giorno e "That's Not My Name" di cui vi metto il video.

Come avrete notato, ultimamente non scrivo più sul blog come una volta, metto solo video estivi di quest'anno e delle estati passate. Oggi vi metto il nuovo video molto estivo di Mariah Carey insieme a T.I. che si chiama "I’ll Be Lovin U Long Time". Come vi sembra? Il video secondo me è carino, molto Mariahstyle, e la canzone mi piace sempre di più (anche se le mie 2 canzoni-droga di questo ultimo periodo sono "Disturbia" di Rihanna e "Shake It" dei Metro Station).

SUMMER HITS: Miranda - "Vamos a la Playa" (estate 1999)

Finalmente ho cambiato la tastiera, visto che quella che avevo prima aveva metà tasti che non andavano... comunque oggi vi metto un altro tormentone dance estivo. Correva l'estate 1999 e questa "Vamos a la Playa" di Miranda faceva ballare e cantare tutti quanti.
